Bernie Sanders faces progressive backlash over State of the Union response
Aki Soga, USA TODAY• February 6, 2019
My first comment: I see no reason for backlash.
My second comment: Why? Ms. Abrams's response was OK, but, feeble: she is just a novice politician: Sanders was far more enlightening -- Republicans don't like that: they like the darkness.
My third comment: if, there was backlash, it was Republicans, not the people. Ms. Abrams's response was girly. So, Bernie Sanders filled in the void.
Trump boosts bills to teach his favorite book — the Bible — in public schools
David Knowles Editor,Yahoo News•January 29, 2019
My comment: The Bible is a collection of Books containing some good, bad, and not useful parts: not good for public school instruction. They, basically, contains transcendental mysteries of life in allegorical form: taken literally, can be misleading. It is purpose of inspired priests to interpret them—not secular public school teachers. They don’t know what is literal and symbolic; therefore, they belong in the church not public schools. The Torah has a lot of bad parts: the New Testament is allegorical. Trump is a religious moron and does not know what is doing, saying: it should be taught in public schools. It is a book you elect to read or study, when you are mature. It should not be mandatory. It would create conflicted students. Public schools should teach science—not religion.

Kavanaugh had different tune on lie detectors in the past
MICHAEL BALSAMO,Associated Press Fri, Sep 28, 2018
My comment: For Judge Brett Kavanaugh to take a polygraph test would be more revealing and more important act, than a FBI investigation, since he once said, they are an important law enforcement tool and since, Christine Ford took one. He should volunteer to take one; obviously, he is a liar and knows it, because, he now says: they are unreliable. Knowing his drunken sex act might catch to him in the future, he wrote a false diary of his college life. The reason the Judiciary Committee doesn’t require him to take one: all eight members are criminal minded Republicans: they are blocking the use of an important law enforcement tool. A man who bears false wittiness before a Senate hearing (i.e., lies) – tarnishes the reputation and credibility of another honest person, to protect himself, should not be nominated to sit on the Supreme Court. If, he would admit—he done some stupid things, when young; but, says, now, he is a changed man: that would be more honorable.
Manafort juror blames 1 holdout for derailing conviction on 10
of 18 counts
KATHERINE FAULDERS
ABC News August 23, 2018
My comment [8/25/18]: That is why convictions should be based on 10 out of 12: one idiot person should not be able to overrule 11 reasonable people. Trump is one of those kind of idiots, unreasonable bigots, who called Paul Manafort a good person during the trial, who cheated the nation on his taxes. Twelve out of 12 sets the bar too high to convict, because, quite often there are 1 or 2 Trump idiots--or bad judges, or Judas in a jury letting the guilty go free for personal reasons. One bad juror permitted to outweigh 11 good jurors is a justice system that favors the criminal. It's time to change the law: convict more guilty criminals and save tax payers money: not to have to retry. Too often, Trump like unreasonable people, mind set bias people, like Newt Gingrich, or Judases get seated in juries: time to turn the tables: change the law in favor of the people. Ten out of twelve to convict makes the law fairer. The way the law is stated: one juror out of 12 can not convict, cause a mistrial-- set a guilty man free; but to convict: you need 12 out of 12: that is heavily weighted in the favor of the criminal. It permits two unreasonable, bad ass judges, like Trump to prevent justice from occurring. Why should one unreasonable judge, like Trump, over rule 11 reasonable judges: that is a defect in our criminal justice system.
Dear senators: Don't bankrupt our country
By Jeffrey Sachs
November 20, 2017 CNN
My comment: The problem with America: read these comments: the majority of people, are stupid.
Reply by William Kevin: walter Picca 100% of people who voted...voted for a loser this time. good job
My second comment: I agree with Jeffrey Sachs: the republican controlled congress is representing rich-donors; rather, than the people on tax reform; however, I don’t agree with the way he calculates debt to GDP: not including intragovernmental debt; when, you include internal, foreign, and intragovernmental debt; the real debt ratio to GDP is 105.85% not 77%. Why would you not include the $2.7 trillion the federal government borrowed from the S.S. Trust Fund. That is a fallacy.

Tax reform: It's now or never, says White House adviser Gary Cohn
CNN•November 14, 2017
My comment: It is not time to pass the GOP tax reform plan with a U.S. Budget deficit up sharply to $63.2 billion in October: Gary Cohn should be charged with a plot to steal from Uncle Sam by cutting taxes more on the rich and corporations, arrested, tried, convicted of misrepresentation and attempting to rob the U.S Treasury $1.7 trillion and sent to jail.
Trump barges into tax debate, seeks deeper cut for wealthy
KEVIN FREKING and MARCY GORDON
Associated Press•November 13, 2017
My comment: Voters should give President Trump the Middle Finger on his tax cuts on the wealthy: that is why Sen. Bernie Sanders is right: we have to stop the control of governments by the wealthy--globally. They don't like paying their fair share of taxes, based on benefits received: Trump is one of those persons. His tax returns will be proof, once made public.
Bernie Sanders: We must end global oligarchy
By Bernie Sanders
Mon November 13, 2017
My first comment: Sen. Bernie Sanders is correct.
My 2nd comment: The reason we can't design and enact a fair tax code and end tax loopholes and tax havens: the Republican criminal syndicate controls the US Congress and the White House.
Reply MartyGRMI To be fair, smart money owns both parties so you always win.
My reply: Not exactly: there is a big difference in voting record between Republicans and Democrats: over 90% of Republicans signed the Norquist no-tax increase pledge for any reason; only, a few democrats: that is a big difference.
Reply PutUSFirst I don't think you understand what the pledge actually was. It was no net increase in taxes. Technically the pledge would have allowed an increase in corporate taxes or closing tax loopholes, but you had to decrease taxes somewhere else, like the middle class.
My reply: I don't think you understand: the Norquist pledge is unconstitutional: it violates the Oath of Office. The pledge blocks congressmen from raising taxes to pay for increasing costs of wars, natural disasters, and the war against terrorists. You can not tie the hands of law makers with an unconstitutional tax pledge: that is one main reason why, we have a growing $20 trillion debt
Reply PutUSFirst: LOL.....don't be so naive. It has nothing to do with republicans or democrats. Tell me. How do you take money from a foreign bank? Are we going to go to war with the Cayman Islands to reclaim that money? This has to do with "jurisdiction".
My reply: Don't worry: it can be done legally with a pen; if, it is in foreign banks to avoid paying taxes: don't be stupid and try to protect tax evaders.
Reply PutUSFirst: So how would you do it? Money and assets are all in foreign countries. So what steps would you take?
My reply: Don't worry: Congress knows how to do it. They just don't do it, because, they are part of the criminal syndicate. They get political donations for not closing loopholes, tax havens and increasing taxes on corporations and the wealthy: that is how they stay in power.
Reply mitchgam: The fact that the Republicans act like a Mafia organization, does not mean that the Democrat are innocents
My Reply: I agree there are some bad democrats; but, Bernie Sanders is an Independent. He is right: we must end global control of governments by the Super-Wealthy.
Reply trumpbestPOTUSever3: Walter Picca democrats didn't do anything when they had supermajorities and Obama...what was your excuse then?
My reply: That is true; but, the Democrats did reinstate the Estate Tax and added 39.6% rate and bracket: and increased the tax on capital gains and dividends: the Republicans cut taxes on the wealthy: Reagan did it, George W. Bush did it; so that, is the difference. Did Democrats do enough: No. They were blocked by Republicans.
The ominous absurdity of Trump's tax cuts
CNN•October 30, 2017
My comment: Jeffery Sachs is absolutely correct: The Trump-Republican Tax Reform Plan is an attempt to rob Uncle Sam, the federal government, legally..... That is what the Republicans do when in power: Reagan did it, George W. Bush did it, and now crooked Trump and his cohorts are trying again ....
Robert Reich: Tax Reform Is Like a $5.8 Trillion Bank Heist
Newsweek• October 30, 2017
My comment: Robert Reich is correct! Republicans are using the law and lies to steal from Uncle Sam -- or the United States: arrest, charge with GRAND LARCENY-TREASON: convict and execute: Trump is the Big Thief. When you see his tax returns: that will be the proof. If, he won't release them--charge him with lying to the American people and subpoena them.
Tax cuts are worse than unwarranted. They’re dangerous.

Ari Fleischer: Taxes and the rich -- Yes, they pay their fair share, and they will after tax reform, too
By Ari Fleischer, Fox News 10/23/2017
My comment: I disagree: The reason they pay a large portion of income taxes-- percentagewise-- the top 1 percent receives by far the biggest share of income from capital gains, dividends, wages, bonuses, stock options, interest, rents, and business profits: there is an unfair distribution of wealth going to the top from not paying their fair share of taxes since 1981 on these incomes; in fact, the income tax is regressive at the top: that is not fair and the escalating high exemption on the estate tax and the soaring National Debt: means: they are not paying their fair share: they pass most or all of their assets to heirs and family foundations tax free and dump their unpaid taxes on the next generation who did not create it. That is not fair. The growing $20 trillion National debt is the amount of taxes not paid by individuals and corporations who profited; mostly the rich, from the nation's economic activity--or GDP: that means we have an unfair tax code. Those that profit the most should pay progressively more taxes. Donald Trump who hates paying taxes is that type of person: he greatly benefits; but, pays very little taxes; that is why, he does not want to release his tax returns. That will show the rich don't pay their fair share. And, republicans want to cut their taxes more: that is not fair.
Rancher 721 reply: Ahhh, so cute, you envy the Rich. Has success eluded you all your life?
My reply: Stick to the facts!
Rancher 721 reply: Fact is the Rich pay MORE than 'their' share. When the bottom 50 percent pay nothing....they are 'Takers'. Are you a Taker? Why don't you pay YOUR fair share?
My reply: Why don't you use your real name?
Rancher 721 reply: Stick to the Facts
Rancher 721 reply: Bottom 50 Percent pay a paltry 3.6 percent? Hmmmmm, DOES THAT sound fair to you, while the rest pick up the remaining 95.4 percent........Hows your math?
My reply: You have to look at income or wages too! Here is the thing: My comment was about the title: Look at it: it says the rich pay their fair share and will after the Trump tax reform passes: that is false. To get support for the tax cut: they are cutting taxes more on the middle class and doubling the standard deduction: I think that is a bad idea: But, remember: there are other types of taxes the bottom 50% pay other than the income tax; however, I agree to reduce to deficit, or balance the budget; everybody that has an income higher than what is necessary for basic needs, should pay some taxes--and as income increases progressively more taxes. I favor a progressive income tax with more rates and brackets to pay for what we spend--on an annual bases so, deficits don't accumulate. And, I agree: 50% of the people that don't pay federal income taxes is too high.

Tax reform: Who pays U.S. income taxes (and who doesn't)
October 12, 2017
My comment: the graph does not show the top .001% or top 400 families: their tax rate deceases as their income increases: that is wrong. But, the main problem: the U.S. Congress is not adjusting the tax rates to pay for the cost of government on an annual basis: everybody needs to pay more taxes including corporations or spend less--or both.

Even Kennedy funded the 'great society' through tax cuts
By Jason Riley, The Wall Street Journal
10/4/2017
My comment: that is a defective argument: there was a big difference in the tax rates:
In 1963:
-- the top income tax rate 91%
-- dividends were taxed as income
-- The corporate tax rate: 53%
-- the top estate tax rate 77% exemption: $60K
Today:
-- The top income tax rate 39.6%
-- dividends taxed at 20%
-- corporate tax rate: 35%
-- the top estate tax rate 40% exemption: $5.49M

In debate over political speech, pastors say they fear the IRS ‘pulpit police’ by Taylor Rogers
My comment: 7/14/17
I disagree with Pastor Jim Garbow. His healthcare program will not save American. If, he wants to save American, he should tell the fat people in his congregation: not to eat so much and change their diet. He is just as phony as politicians. He is an idiot—the same as Pastor Ron Johnson: Christians voting for Obama do not suffer from “severe moral schizophrenia.” He does; if, he supports Trump. Pastors or churches that endorse political candidates, or want to engage in politicking, should have their tax-exempt status removed by the IRS. The purpose of the church is to teach religious principles.
Ryan Talks Tax Overhaul: 'Let's Just Start Over'
WSJ Live Tue, Jun 20 11:24 AM PDT
My Comment: Speaker Paul Ryan is manipulating the facts: don't trust him. The tax code needs reform, but not by the GOP criminal syndicate controlling both houses: it going to be tax cut on the rich. They will misrepresent the facts to convince you it will create jobs. Donald Trump, who fights like hell to pay as little taxes as possible, will sign the Bill.
What you say or think (i.e., the people)-- does not matter: the U.S Congress, as constituted, is going to pass another Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush tax cut on the rich. That is what Republican do when they control the U.S. Congress.
That is why James T. Hodgkinson was justified in what he did. Republicans are not listening to or representing the majority of people, when it comes to tax reform.

Bernie Sanders, One Of The Greediest People On Earth, Says Greed Isn't Good
Investor's Business Daily-Jan 8, 2016
My comment: I disagree with Kerry Jackson, journalist for Investor’s Business Daily, that Bernie Sanders is one of the greediest people on earth, because, he wants to restore the graduating income top tax rates. K.J. is wrong and bias. As a result of the Reagan and Bush income tax cuts: the rich have become super rich—and Uncle Sam deeply in debt. That is an unfair tax code. The greediest people are at the top, who benefit the most from our nation's resources, laws, services, labor force, consumers, and infrastructure and support politicians that agree to not raise their taxes or reduce them. It's time to make them pay: Bernie Sanders’ tax plan does that. It is a matter of fairness—not greed.

Both Sanders’s and Clinton’s tax plans will soak the rich
[Washington Post]
By Robert J. Samuelson March 13, 2016
My comment: Robert J. Samuelson forgot to mention: higher taxes on income would reduce the deficit and put the nation on a sounder fiscal foundation. His spin: it would soak the rich -- is bias. Making the income tax progressive is not unfair. When the rich became richer--and Uncle Sam deeper in debt: the tax code is out of balance. Hillary's and Sander's plan restores that balance, Sander's more than Hillary's. Both are better than Trump's plan.
